Thank you RBC

Food is something I love and I needed the constant motivation to make the right choices and to keep moving forward. As scared as I was at the beginning, the fears quickly disappeared and the confidence grew stronger. Shawn always told me I could do it but he knew my limits. After about 4 months he had to cancel one of my personal trainer sessions but offered me to come to Boot Camp instead. I was sure I wasn’t ready for that but he thought differently. I went to the class and was surprised at how friendly and supportive everyone was. I made it through the class and knew I could do it physically, but I was still not ready to move to it full time in my mind. Through Shawn’s encouragement and personal work with me, I overcame my fears and on March 21st I began Boot Camp full time. I have no problems getting up every morning at 4:30 and starting my day. I look forward to the Bootcamp work outs which have helped me in other ways besides weight loss. I feel healthier than I can ever remember and mentally it helps me deal with stress and has given me the confidence that I needed to keep moving forward and never give up. There is no easy button and obstacles will always be there, I just go around them. And when I am frustrated, Shawn is there for me. I have just completed my third 6 week session and have lost a total of 71 pounds! I have a ways to go to get to my goal, but I definitely know that fear and excuses will not get in my way again! Thanks Shawn!

There is no way I would ever get up that early to exercise!” I decided to join the evening session which started in November. I had worked with a trainer prior to this so I was looking forward to getting back into shape. When Shawn asked me about my goals, I told him I wanted to lose weight and tone. When he did the initial measurements (including body fat) , I was not very pleased with myself! Shawn takes the time to discuss goals and how to reach these goals. He gives guidance every step of the way.

I admit, a few times I had to drag myself to the gym after work to get to a class. But I love RBC! I look forward to working out with the group each week. I come home each night and show my husband what we did. I am amazed at the strength I have gained. After the first 6 week session, the RESULTS are amazing! I went down a size in my clothes, I dropped 5% bodyfat , lost 2 inches in my waist and lost 9 pounds!! Most of all, I feel better and have more confidence in myself. I have continued with the nutrition plan Shawn set up for me and I am on my 2nd session with RBC. AND I actually went to the 5 am class more than once! I recommend RBC to anyone…it will change the way you look and feel! Thanks Shawn and Rochester Boot Camp!

When first considering on joining RBC, Shawn asked me what my fitness goals were? In the past my goal would have been to just lose a bunch of weight. Well that didn’t work in the past, so I needed to come up some new goals. Being a person who didn’t really have a lot of weight to lose, I was just setting myself up for failure. After consulting with Shawn, we decided that getting leaner and more toned would be one of my goals. Another goal I set for myself was getting my bodyfat % to be at or below 20%. If I lost weight along the way, that would just be an added bonus. I am very happy to say that these goals have been met, even exceeded!!The group training sessions are great motivation and a fun environment. After the very first class I remember saying to a co-worker “bootcamp was so hard this morning. I’m sure I’ll be sore tomorrow, but I feel great right now!” I was right! The next day I was very sore, but still felt like I accomplished something. This was a good feeling!Since starting with RBC in April 2010 I don’t think we have done the same workout twice. There is so much variety with the exercises that it is never boring. From strength to cardio to calisthenics to balance, there is something for everyone! And Shawn is always there for that extra guidance and encouragement along the way! I have to say that I was nervous about the nutrition plan in the beginning. This quickly went away after realizing that it wasn’t your typical “diet.” With the help of Shawn and RBC I have learned a lot about exercise and nutrition. In learning these things I have more energy throughout the day, I have more confidence, have met my goals and most importantly I feel great!!

I joined Next Level Fitness in February. Prior to that, I wasn’t doing any form of exercise and was extremely out of shape. I started taking a few classes here and there when I heard about Boot Camp. As out of shape as I was, I figured Boot Camp would be out of the question but in April I signed up. Getting up in the morning was tough at first but after each class I loved it more and more. Shawn has the patience of a saint and it’s quite obvious how much he loves what he does. He helped me change my eating habits and I started to see and feel results. I have become a Boot Camp “addict!” After the 3rd session, I got alittle too comfortable and let my diet and cardio slide. My measurements showed it and I was devastated! Then Shawn announced there was going to be a “Boot Camp Challenge” for the next 6 weeks. A contest where you can earn points for woorkouts, weight loss, inches and body fat lost. That was exactly what I needed to get back on track. There was a fire lit under me like never before and I decided to do whatever it takes to win this. Shawn helped me with cardio and my eating plan. He and Beth also gave me the confidence to increase my weights and to push myself. I started to eat “clean” and felt the results immediately. The better I felt the more focused I became. When th 6 weeks were up I had my measurements done. Shawn measured my waist twice to make sure he read it right!! I had lost 2.75 ” off my waist alone. I also lost 10lbs and 4.92% BF. Even if I don’t win, I had proven to myself what I can do if I set my mind to it!

You can imagine how awesome I felt when Shawn announced that I had won! I was SO happy that I went shopping and bought jeans 2 sizes smaller. I can’t thank Shawn, Beth and my Boot Camp family enough for their role in helping me succeed.

Rochester Boot Camp rocks!!!

After losing 148lbs. and keeping it off, I decided to resolve to get fit. January 1, 2010 I joined Next Level Fitness with a girlfriend. That is the day that changed my way of thinking about working out…forever. Shawn had his “boot camp radar” out that day! He planted his seed, and he was persistent. The first question he asked was, “what are your fitness goals?” I think I may have laughed out loud right then! I don’t set goals, but he got me thinking. So, I managed a few weeks of personal sessions with Shawn which taught me a lot, but then he convinced me to join RBC, now I am hooked!!! Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we meet at 6 am. for an hour of hard core, FUN fitness! Working out with the group gives me way more incentive to really push myself thru the workout, you have Shawn, and fellow “boot campers” encouraging you along the way!
Not only do you have the workout sessions, but nutritional guidance. Which is hugely important in our messed up society. Shawn is right there to help you with any questions or concerns you might have about the “diet”. With RBC you get the real deal, the whole package, with RESULTS!!!
Thanks to Shawn, and Rochester Boot Camp I now have some personal goals set, I have lost more weight, lost inches, reduced my body fat, gained muscle tone, confidence, knowledge, and most importantly I am healthier all the way around. I am convinced that I will NEVER weigh 300lbs again!!!!
Take the step…you won’t be sorry!!!!

Prior to joining RBC I had never done any weight/strength training. My mode of exercise was using a recumbent bike at home 3-5x per week (when I could stay motivated to do it regularly). In addition to the lack of motivation to get on the bike (coupled with boredom) I was not getting results I wanted. I’ll admit I was hesitant to try RBC, I thought it would be too challenging, I’d be too uncoordinated to perform the exercises and I’d have to get up earlier in the morning…excuses, excuses! But I knew I had to try something that would provide my the opportunity to obtain the results I wasn’t currently getting…..so I tried a session. Three months later I am so happy I made the decision to try it out. I have gained muscle tone and coordination as well as lost weight and a total of 11 inches and counting! At the end of each workout I feel great (although fatigued)….and energized to start my day! Shawn has a way of inspiring and encouraging us to put forth 110% and is right there to ensure proper form and help us get the most out of each session. This is definitely a program that provides results as well as support all along the way.

Even though I have a few pounds left to reach my goal weight, I feel 100% better. In the beginning, the 5am start time was tough, but I adjusted and love getting a positive start on the morning and the increased energy I have throughout the day. Between the trainers and the positive energy amongst the other clients in the program I am really pushed to go above what I could do on my own. It is a great atmosphere and everyone really helps one another out with their work outs as well as ideas for meals.
